Online Income Reports Roundup for December 2019

Online-Income-Roundup-report-december-2019-It’s time for an online income reports roundup.  What kind of post is this?  Well, every month there are tons of people who are making money online in one form or another.  Some are making total passive income with traffic and revenues that are derived from the content they created months or even years ago.  Some are selling digital products, some are creating affiliate site and there are some who even sell physical products online.  What you don’t really see though is how some of these people are making money online.

That’s what the online income reports roundup is for.  We take a look around and aggregate as many income reports as we can find out there.  Why?  first, it’s kind of cool to see that others are making money online, which is one of my goals.  Many of them also give some good details on what types of income they are making, such as affiliate income, which is like a commission for sales, or some are from ad placements, which are the different ads you might see on a site.  There are so many ways to earn income online and there are so many programs creating a list like this is helpful to me to see so many possibilities.

Let’s take a look at the roundup list we found for December of 2019.

Wow! There are some awesome earnings in the list.  It’s really fun to see what is possible with an online business.  Most of the people on the list are bloggers of some sort.  Some of them really stand out because of the digital products they sell.  For example, in the case of Entrepreneur on Fire, it earns a bulk of its income from podcast sponsorships.  John Lee Dumas even shares his sponsors if you are in the podcast realm.  You can check it out here, “Entrepreneurs On Fire Sponsors!”.

As much as I like looking at the reports that have huge numbers and dreaming about how it will be when this site reaches those, what I really like to look at are the up and coming ones.  The bloggers who are just starting out or publishing their first income report.  This month, I came across Life Style With Leah, who published her very first income report.

If you’ve read many income reports, you know a lot of them have similar formats.  They tell you what to expect in the income report, why they are posting their income reports and often how you can start a blog too.  Just for fun, I wanted to see when the blog started, but couldn’t really see it on the site, so I went over to the almighty google to ask.  I found a link back to the blog archives and went back to what I think was the first post.  It was back in October of 2017, so about 2 years ago.

It sounds like a long time to make a couple of hundred bucks, right?  It’s OK though.  YMIDoingThis.com hasn’t ever posted an income report and I’ve had this domain for over 10 years.  It hasn’t always been a blog about personal finance, online income, and financial independence though.  There’s been a lot of downtime in between different ventures too.  Seems like I’m always trying to figure out why I am doing this.

She’s making progress though.  As a lifestyle blogger, she’s covering a number of different topics from essential oils, to Instagram templates to blogging and affiliate marketing.

The bulk of income for the blog during December came from sponsored posts and display ads.  She’s using Monumentric, which has some minimum qualifications of at least 10,000 page views a month to get started.  Lifestyle with Leah hit 20,618 page views in December.  In looking a little deeper she had a majority of those coming from Pinterest.   You can find her on Pinterest here.  I was surprised to see that she only had 1,626 followers.  If you look at all of the boards and pins thought, you’ll see she’s pretty active.

Another site that got my attention on the list was Cozy Simple Calm, mainly because it posted an income report with a loss for the month.  I checked into it and it looks likey they are about 6 months into posting income reports.  I went back to that first report.  It was from July of 2019.

Back then Jessica, the blogger for Cozy Simple Calm, was at 982 page views compared to 1,803 six months later.  Cool!  Double the traffic.  It’s fun to see the growth from just getting started to making some income.  Starting back in July when the site was first monetized she made just $0.01 in revenues and had a bunch of expenses.

She’s using a lot of services that are helping her build a solid foundation of traffic and community (email list).  Mostly though, it looks like she’s focusing on services that will help build social connections.  There’s Tailwind (helps with Pinterest and Instagram, Canva (for making awesome pins and other graphics), ConvertKit (for building email lists), Depositphotos (stock photo membership) and Milo Tree (helps building social media followers).

In all, it sounds like she’s focusing on a lot of things that will help build traffic to the blog.  It will be fun to follow along on the journey of her progress to see how long it takes to get to a net positive income.

You’ve gotta hand it to her though, I and my site, YMIDoingThis.com hasn’t posted anything yet.  Of course, as of the time of writing this post, there are no income-producing elements of the site yet.  It will come with time though.

It seems like these income reports are getting harder to find.  I first came across them when I found Pat Flynn’s site, Smart Passive Income and was always anxious to see the next report.  Back in those days it started getting really popular and was easy to find all kinds of reports online.  Not so much now though.

If you post online income reports and want to be included in my list, drop me a note or just leave a comment below?
